Both beginners and advanced players will find amazing fairways to explore. The seaside has golf courses with amazing views of the ocean. There are also beautiful tree-lined fairways with tall green pine trees.
If you are visiting, you will probably spend time on a public golf course. As is the case in any golf destination, the offerings cannot be easily distilled into one typical course. The golf courses vary in some way. That said, Cape Cod is a legitimate golf coast. It has produced notable PGA and LPGA Tour stars. Dennis Pines Golf Course (Rating - 71.9/ Slope – 127)
Dennis Pines is a public golf course on Route 134, East Dennis, 508-385-8347. Some of the best golfers in Cape Cod learned the game at Denis Pines. It has been around since 1966 and was designed by Henry C. Mitchell.
The championship tee is 7,029 yards. There are a total of 4 sets of tees and golf players of all levels will find a tee that can accommodate their skill level. The par seventy-two golf course sits on 170 acres of pine forest land. With its tree-lined corridors, you will be focusing more on accuracy than distance. It is arguably one of the toughest layouts around here.

Cape Cod Country Club (Rating - 69.6 / Slope – 125)
This spectacular 18-hole championship golf course is open to the public all year round. It is located in East Falmouth Massachusetts and it borders the Coonamessett Pond. The landscape is characterized by woods and vistas of lakes. You will really like the views of the course, especially the views of the pond.
Golfers of all levels will find the 6,429-yard layout accommodating. Aside from the occasional hill, the layout of the par seventy-one course is generally flat. It is actually an established golf course in the area as it hosts the annual Cape Cod Senior Open golf tournament and has been the host of three USGA Massachusetts Opens.
Guests have sung praises of the café at Cape Cod Country Club. You should definitely check out the Coonamessett Café. They have a restaurant/snack bar that offers chicken salad, burgers, soups and chili, wraps, hot dogs, and a great selection of specialty sandwiches. The café can accommodate up to 80 people and it has big screens strategically placed in the space so that patrons can catch up on their favorite sports teams during games.

The Captains Golf Course (Rating - 69.4 / Slope – 123)
There are basically two golf courses at The Captains Golf Course. The par seventy-two course is located in Brewster, Massachusetts and it delivers 36 holes of amazing play to both residents and tourists visiting Cape Cod. You can easily drive to the course from Providence or Boston.
The course is always kept in excellent condition. Whenever you go, you will find the fairways, greens, and tees lush and full. This is particularly impressive because it is one of the courses that get the most play in Cape Cod.
If you need lessons, you can rely on The Captains’ experienced staff members. They have PGA professionals on staff. Their Pro Shop is also fully stocked.

Bass River Golf Course (Rating - 67.3 / Slope - 121)
This is a par seventy-two golf course located at 62 High Bank Road, South Yarmouth, 508-398-9079. It is one of the oldest golf courses in Cape Cod. It was founded in 1900 and was expanded in 1914 after a redesign by architect Donald Ross.
Many golf courses in forestland in Cape Cod feature narrow fairways. Bass River Golf course, however, has slightly wider fairways by Cape Cod standards. The 18-hole layout has beautiful views of the Bass River. The course has several sets of tees that golfers of various skill levels would find comfortable. The overall length of the course is 6138 yards.

Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course (Rating – 70.7 / Slope – 123)
The Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course par seventy-one golf course is owned by the Town of Barnstable. It is one of the best municipal courses in Massachusetts and has gotten a positive review from Golf Digest as a course that is a ‘lot of fun’ to play at. Roger Schiffman, the managing editor of Golf Digest, played at the course. The overall length of the course is 6,479 yards.
Residents of the Town of Barnstable without an annual pass get discounted rates. All you need to prove residency is a Tax Bill or a current driver’s license.
Highland Links Golf Course (Rating – 67 / Slope – 114)
Highland Links was founded in 1892 and is Cape Cod’s oldest golf course. With more than a century of play, the course enjoys a rich history and its story is closely intertwined with Cape Cod’s economic and political history. The golf course is located near Cape Cod Light in North Truro. It overlooks the Atlantic offering players very scenic ocean views from the greens. The par seventy course’s overall length is 5,332 yards. It has 9 holes.
Blue Rock Golf Course
The Blue Rock Golf Course is a well-maintained course in South Yarmouth that is suitable for golfers of all skill levels. It offers a well-stocked Pro Shop, a practice range, as well as two putting and chipping greens. There is a great casual restaurant on the facility called the Grill Room. Grill Room is open daily and serves both breakfast and lunch. Lunch is served until mid-afternoon.
The course spans 3,000 yards in length. It is nestled in a wooded area among residential neighborhoods. At 169 yards, the #9 hole is the signature hole. The holes on the course range from 103 to 255 yards. All the holes are par threes. The course is always well maintained.
