PLEASANT BAY / JACKKNIFE COVE BEACH

Pleasant Bay (Jackknife) Beach is a great beach for families.  Pleasant Bay is in North Chatham and can be found near the North Chatham / Harwich town line.  Pleasant Bay (Jackknife) Beach is a calm, saltwater cove that is shaped like a jackknife.  It's warm, shallow water that is perfect for skimboarding, swimming, and kayaking.  Pleasant Bay is very popular with windsurfers and kayakers heading out to Monomoy.  In the evening you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets.  There are no lifeguards or facilities but admission is free and dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 am and after 6 pm.
