Cape Cod has lots of fun things that families with kids can do. It doesn’t matter whether you are visiting or are a resident of the Cape, you will find something fun to do with your kids. Visit Cape Cod Inflatable Park

Spend Time at Grand Slam Entertainment
This is truly a grand slam. This facility is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers fun activities such as bumper boats, zip-lining, batting cages, and a rock wall. The batting cages feature baseball, softball, high arc, and fastpitch. The zip line extends over a large bumper boat pool and it is definitely a fun experience for a kid to try. Get a Ferry Experience on the Island Queen
The Island Queen offers one of the best ferry experiences on the Cape. If you are going to Martha’s Vineyard from Falmouth, this is the most fun way to get there. You don’t even have to have any business planned in Martha’s Vineyard. You can just book a trip with your family to enjoy the journey. There’s ample parking near the dock. From mid-May to October, the Island Queen sails daily to Martha’s Vineyard beginning from 9 a.m. The trip is about 35 minutes long. Children under the age of 4 are given a free pass.
Enjoy a Day at the Cape Cod Water Park
This is a special kind of park and maybe the only park of its kind on the Cape. It features over 30,000 sq ft of an indoor and outdoor Water Park that offers lots of amazing experiences for people of all ages. There are two 160-foot high-speed water slides, 50-foot and 80-foot water slides, and a 300-foot ‘stormy’ river with rapids, waterfalls, and spouting humpback whale. You will also find a wave pool and a 24-person whirlpool as well as saunas. If you feel you need to grab a bite, you can go to the gazebo café that serves sandwiches, salads, pizza, various beverages, and several appetizers. The facility is open all week.
Cape Cod’s Children Museum
A visit to a traditional museum may be a bit overwhelming for some kids. It is hard to keep children’s attention when looking at art and crafts that only adults can fully appreciate. If you want to enjoy some art with your kids, Cape Cod has a solution for you in the form of Cape Cod’s Children Museum. The museum features lots of interactive exhibits that will certainly keep the entire family engaged. There is a pirate ship with a treasure chest that has pirate costumes and other piracy paraphernalia. Kids will also find the submarine in the museum interesting. It gives an almost authentic submarine experience with simple added touches like buttons that make real submarine sounds when pressed. This museum is just a haven of fun for a family with kids.
Visit the Whydah Pirate Museum
If the kids like the Cape Cod’s Children Museum, they will definitely enjoy spending time at the Whydah Pirate Museum. It is an interactive pirate museum that has real treasures and pirates. The pirate treasure was found in 1984 just off the coast of Wellfleet and has been authenticated to be real. It has gold coins, silver coins, weapons, jewelry, clothing, cannons, and various other objects that were found in a wrecked pirate ship. The museum’s address is 674 MA-28 W. Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
Go on a Kayaking Tour
Kayaking on the Cape is one of the best ways to explore the region’s beautiful geography. There are
several Kayaking outfitters around Cape Cod and most of them are kid-friendly. There are dozens of Kayaking routes a family can explore on the Cape. Some outfitters may even bring the kayaks to you. All you need to bring are your sunglasses, dry change of clothes, bug spray, sunblock, and a hat. Kayaks can be rented by the hour, half-day, day or even longer.
Rent a Boat and Escape to the Sea
Renting a boat is one of the best ways to enjoy family leisure time on the Cape. Boat rental businesses have boats of several sizes and some come at very affordable rates. You can rent a small boat that has space for only four people or a bigger one that has space for twelve people or more. If you have an avid fisherman in your crew, you can hire a boat equipped with fishing equipment. Cape Cod is a fishing haven and finding such a boat is very easy.
Go Whale Watching with Dolphin Fleet

The Shining Sea Bikeway in Falmouth is a rail-trail that is 10.7 miles long. It runs from the Steamship Authority Terminal to North Falmouth. The bikeway has amazing views of Cape Cod’s landscape and it boasts of a seaside section that features picturesque vistas of rivers and marshes. This is the perfect trail to take the whole family on a relaxed bike ride through Cape Cod. There are several bike rentals on the Cape. Most inns and hotels also offer complimentary bike trail maps if you ask.
Play Mini Golf
Cape Cod has so many places to play mini golf that you will be spoilt for choice. In Yarmouth, you can go to Pirates Cove Adventure Golf, Skull Island, or Wild Animal Lagoon. In Hyannis, Steve and Sue’s Par-tee Freeze Adventure Falls Mini Golf is an excellent spot. If you are in DennisPort, check out Susan’s Garden Mini Golf and the Holiday Inn Mini Golf. Orleans has an excellent spot called Cape Escape Adventure Golf. Those in Brewster should check out the Harbor Lights Mini Golf. Eastham also has excellent mini golf spots such as the Port Lighthouse Mini Golf and Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar. In West Harwich, there is a decent spot at The Wetherdeck Restaurant called the Harbor Glen Mini Golf.
Spend Time at Chatham Lighthouse
A guide through Cape Cod’s landmarks would be incomplete without a stop at the Chatham Lighthouse. The station was first constructed in 1808. It now features an electric beacon and unhindered views of the beautiful beach. The place is well maintained and the surroundings are very beautiful. You can visit the place all year round. Everyone in the family including the kids will love the views and the beach.
Soak up the Sun at Race Point Beach
You really can’t spend time on the Cape when the sun is up without taking time to go to the beach. One of the best beaches to go with kids to is Race Point Beach. This is arguably one of the best beaches you will visit in the country. Trip Advisor lists it among the best 25 beaches in the United States.
The sandy paradise stretches for miles and every spot offers amazing views. In the spring, whales can be seen breaching from the shore. There are historic lighthouses along the stretch. To the West, there are fewer people but the wildlife you will see are amazing. The West is the best place to go if you just want to have quiet time by yourself and just enjoy the views. You should bring binoculars with you to watch whales, seals, and white sharks right from the beach.
